A really lovely little stone farmhouse in the centre of Farindola, a small town in Abruzzo which clings to the side of the hill. Perfect for a small family or couples, this house benefits from a garden and an outbuilding which contains a traditional wood fired pizza oven and built in BBQ.
Accommodation compromises two large double bedrooms on the first floor, both with access to the larger terrace and one with access to a smaller terrace. There is also a small bathroom with a shower on the first floor. The ground floor is completely open plan with large lounge / dining area, a small kitchen off to one side, a wine cellar/grotto and a large open fireplace. A large double door leads out from the lounge dining area to the garden.
An attractive property that has just come on to the rental market from July of this year.
Location
This property is located in the town of Farindola in Abruzzo, Italy. Farindola is a typical small Italian town of the region. Built on the side of a hill it's a particularly attractive town on approach. In the centre you will find several bars and restaurants to choose from as well as a number of small shops selling groceries and provisions, bread, milk, meat and vegetables etc.
The Farindola valley is particularly spectacular and very popular with walkers and in particular rock climbers. The nearby (10 min's) Valle D'Angri is popular with climbers of all abilities and boast several prepared climbs of various degrees of difficulty. (see last few photos)
There is also a small pay by the hour fishing lake stocked with trout on the way up to Valle D'Angri.
Farindola is about 50 minutes drive from the main Abruzzo airport in Pescara and about 20 minutes from larger towns such as Penne. The surrounding valley and mountains provide stunning scenery and places such as L'Aquila, Atri, Rocca Calascio and Santo Stefano di Sessanio are all within easy reach and well worth visiting.
